W. Steven Johnson is a Partner in the firm of Todd & Johnson, L.L.PBorn on October 22, 1948 in Columbia, South Carolina, he attended Wofford College where he obtained a B.A. degree in 1970 and an L.L.B. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1973. He practiced with the Columbia law firm of Lewis, Lewis & Robinson for three years before joining the trust department of Bankers Trust of South Carolina, where he was a trust officer. In 1980 he formed the law firm of Todd & Johnson, Columbia, South Carolina with the late Albert C. Todd, III where his practice primarily included estate planning and probate administration.
Mr. Johnson is a member of the South Carolina Bar. He was also a member of the Estate Practices Committee of the South Carolina Bar and of the successor to that committee, the Probate, Estate Planning and Trust Section. This committee, later a bar section, drafted what became the South Carolina Probate Code, which was adopted by the legislature and became effective in 1987. Steve was instrumental in the passage of the South Carolina Probate Code and testified before the legislature as to the advisability of the Code. Additionally, Mr. Johnson has served as Chairman of the South Carolina and Richland County Bars Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Law Section. He is a certified specialist in estate planning and trust law and in 2005 was named by the South Carolina Supreme Court to the Estate Planning and Probate Law Specialization Committee where he currently serves as Chairman of that Board.
He was a contributing author to “Estate Planning in South Carolina”, published in 2002 by the South Carolina Bar where he co-authored a chapter on “Choosing Fiduciaries”. Mr. Johnson is a member of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) where he currently serves as the South Carolina state chair for such organization. Mr. Johnson is listed in the best lawyers in America published by Seaview/Putnam, N.Y. He has been a frequent lecturer at various CLE seminars sponsored by the South Carolina Bar and formerly served as a faculty member of the Bridge the Gap program.

WILLIAM M. REYNOLDS III, Esquire

William M. Reynolds III is a Partner in the law firm. He is a Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning & Probate Law in South Carolina. Bill graduated from The Citadel in 1972 and upon graduation, he accepted a commission in the United States Air Force. He served for 20 years as an F-15 fighter pilot while attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Bill retired from the Air Force in 1997 and immediately enrolled at the University of South Carolina School of Law. In Law School, he was a student editor on the ABA Real Property, Trust and Probate Journal. He attained the degree of Juris Doctor in the spring of 2000.
Bill is originally from Sumter, South Carolina, and is married to the former Catherine Wells of Columbia, South Carolina. They have three children; Billy, 26; Nancy, 26; and Catherine, 17. They are members of Shandon United Methodist Church and Bill enjoys hunting and golf during his leisure hours.
Bill is past President of the Columbia Estate Planning Council. He worked closely with his late law partner, Al Todd, performing lifetime planning for clients of the firm and he practices probate administration. He speaks to private groups as well as at state and federal government seminars helping attendees understand the importance of planning for the future. He has spoken at several continuing legal education seminars for attorneys. During the years 2009/2010, he has served as chairperson of the Estate Planning and Probate Section committee reviewing, updating and revising the South Carolina Trust Code. Bill has also edited and republished "A Diagrammatic Guide to Estate Planning" for the firm and "The Book of Estate Planning Questions and Answers" for the South Carolina Bar. He is a co-author of "An Overview to Estate Settlement in South Carolina".

DAWN D. CLARK, Esquire

Dawn D. Clark is a partner with the firm practicing in the areas of estate planning, probate administration and taxation. Ms. Clark graduated from the College of Charleston cum laude in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. She earned her Juris Doctor Degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1996. Ms. Clark also earned her Master of Law in Taxation from New York University School of Law in 1997. She is a Certified Specialist in Tax Law and is a member of the American Bar Association; South Carolina Bar Association, Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Law Section of the South Carolina Bar, and the Charleston Tax Council.
Dawn grew up in Charleston, South Carolina. She lives on Daniel Island in Charleston and practices in our Charleston office. She has spoken for various business, professional and civic groups on issues related to estate planning and taxation.

TIMOTHY C. THOMPSON, Esquire

Timothy C. Thompson is Special Counsel with Todd & Johnson, L.L.P., practicing in the areas of taxation, estate planning, probate administration, business planning, nonprofit corporations and commercial real estate. Tim received his Bachelor of Arts in English from The Citadel in 1993 and his J.D. degree from The University of South Carolina School of Law in 1996, and he was admitted to practice in South Carolina in November of 1996. Tim also attended The University of Florida School of Law and received an LLM in Taxation in 1997. He was certified as a Taxation Specialist by the Supreme Court in 2002.
While attending The Citadel, Tim served as President of Sigma Tau Delta, was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, a recipient of the Citadel Scholar Scholarship, and graduated from The Citadel Honors Program, Cum Laude. While attending The University of South Carolina School of Law, he served on the Student Editorial Board as an articles editor for the ABA Real Property, Probate & Trust Journal, was a legal writing teaching assistant and a member of the Order of the Wig and Robe.
Tim is a South Carolina native, and he enjoys many outdoor activities, primarily fishing, golf and various adventure sports.
